The TAMPA BAY GLOBAL BUSINESS INITIATIVE in cooperation with the
WORLD AFFAIRS COUNCIL & INTERNATIONAL VISITORS PROGRAM offers
globally minded citizens an opportunity to hear from international
experts and high level dignitaries about their perspective on world
affairs and
also to enlighten members on the cultures of other nations and to
learn how to engage in business or trade in other countries. It
comes at a time when America's image around the world is at all-time
low. It is crucial that we be informed on critical global affairs
and how they impact our daily lives.

TAMPA BAY INTERNATIONAL
VISITORS PROGRAM

Vice Chairperson
Brig. General Jack Gary (Retired) Senior Advisor
As the world becomes smaller through technology, people
of different countries have become more connected than ever before,
the importance of establishing international bridges is the wave of
the future. From the exchange of knowledge and technology in
agriculture, finance, medical and legal, both intangible and tangible
products, the Tampa Bay region is an up and coming area for
international investors and professionals to explore and learn of the
tremendous advantages and outstanding lifestyle. With leading
universities, medical research facilities, agriculture, maritime
services,
sports and arts venues,
with three major airports, plus sunshine year-round
with
beautiful
world famous beaches and an unparalleled
quality of life.
The TAMPA BAY INTERNATIONAL
VISITORS PROGRAM was formed to create opportunities to provide a venue and
network to visiting international dignitaries, foreign officials,
academia, business executives and recognized journalists to address
some of the major issues facing different parts of the world and to
learn more about foreign markets and countries. Emphasis will also
be on creating a deeper understanding of cultures and the thinking
of foreign leaders, plus making members feel more comfortable
traveling in countries around the world.
The Tampa Bay World Affairs Council has applied to be formally affiliated with the World Affairs Council
Association of America, which currently is connected with 87 WAC organizations
in several major cities across the United States (See
www.worldaffairscouncils.org
for more information.)
The
TBGBI
along with
WAC
provides its members with opportunities to become globally aware of
economic, energy, global warming, political, cultural and travel topics and to develop new personal
insight of important world events. Members also enjoy the potential for business
and personal relationships with individuals from around the world
through monthly luncheon forums and receptions to meet visiting dignitaries,
governmental officials, business leaders and academic and
environmental experts, as well as recognized journalists
invited to address members on important business, environmental, cultural, political or
travel related subjects.
The
TBGBI
is an organization which offers opportunities to provide a venue
and network to visiting international dignitaries, foreign
officials, academic experts, business executives and recognized
journalists to address some of the major issues facing different
parts of the world and to learn more about foreign markets and
countries. Emphasis will be on creating a deeper understanding
of cultures and the thinking of foreign leaders, plus making members
feel more comfortable traveling in countries around the world.
The
TBGBI WAC gives world minded citizens an opportunity to
hear from international experts and high level dignitaries about
their perspective of world affairs and also to enlighten members on
the cultures of their nations. It comes at a time when America’s
image around the world needs improvement and Americans need to be
more aware of global affairs and how they impact us locally.
The
TBGBI WAC
will address important issues which could impact Florida and the
U.S., but also be a venue to learn more about other cultures around
the world. There are
significant numbers
of business people and retired executives in southwest Florida that
are, or were, involved internationally in their careers and still
care about what’s taking place, but are not getting an opportunity
for dialogue to keep abreast of the important events taking place
around the world.
The
TBGBI WAC offers a way
for people who to stay informed, be involved and also to
broaden their knowledge about the cultures of different countries in
the process.
The
TBGI WAC
will give foreign nationals a connection to reach out to make new
friends and to establish new investment opportunities and business
alliances beyond South Florida and Miami.
